The
Puzzlers
I was born and grew up in Ethiopia. I obtained Ass. Deg.in Construction
Technology and a B.Sc. in Hydraulic Engineering, back home (Ethiopia). I
studied and obtained my M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering in Brussels,
Belgium. Currently, I work for the Maryland Department of Transportation (20
years come October 2026). I am married and a father of two girls (one a
sophomore at University of Maryland, with a goal to be a Dentist, and the
second a senior, who aspires to be a Neurosurgeon). I am a civil engineer by
profession, with a longstanding interest in mathematics and a particular
fascination with number theory. While mathematics is not my professional
field, solving challenging mathematical puzzles has been a favorite pursuit,
and I regularly participate in online communities devoted to mathematical
problem-solving, typically at MindYourDecisions (https://www.youtube.com/@MindYourDecisions/community),
hosted by Presh Talwarkar. I also contribute to tutoring high school
students in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area through the Ethiopian Church
Community. This prime-number puzzle is my first original puzzle. Outside of
mathematics, I enjoy writing poetry and playing chase.Go to the The Puzzlers List
