E-mail:hdheinz@istar.ca I was born in Edmonton, Canada in 1930 but have been living on the west coast (Vancouver, B.C. area) since I was 10 years old. I started working in the bookbinding (printing) trade when I was 15 years old and retired from it at age 65. I have been happily married for 42 years to my lovely wife Erna. We have two sons, also happily married and they each, with their wives, have a son and a daughter. Both families live within 4 km of our home so we get to spend a lot of fun time with the grandchildren. I have been interested in recreational mathematics since I was a teen, when I started collecting books, puzzles, and number patterns on the subject. Also, this was the time computers were starting to be played up in the popular press and I got hooked on them. As a result, in the early 50's I was building what I called 'Intelligent machines' but in reality were simple special purpose computers made from switches batteries & pilot lights, to solve particular math logic puzzles. Now my hobby has evolved to using personal computers to
