I received my degree from the University of Alabama in astrophysics doing computer modeling of galaxy interactions. Currently I am a member of the physics department at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where I have been teaching since 2000. I have always been interested in mathematics, and various aspects of number theory are an atypical hobby of mine. Over the past 10 years or so I have become quite interested in prime numbers, specifically how they relate to Pythagorean triplets and twin primes.
